8ozcream cheesesoftened
¾cupmedium cheddar cheeseshredded
¼cupparmesan cheeseshredded
½cuponiondiced
1tspgarlic powder
Instructions
Making the filling:
Preheat oven to 400℉
Add sausage to a pan and cook on medium heat. Cook for about 10 minutes until slightly browned. Add onion to sausage and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until sausage is done.
Prepping the jalapenos:
While sausage is cooking, wash jalapenos, cut off the end with the stem then slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise.
Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and membranes. You will want to wear gloves for this process or wash your hands after thoroughly.
Continue making the filling:
Combine cream cheese, garlic powder, and cheeses to the pan of sausage. Mix well until cheeses are smooth and combined.
Making the poppers:
Place the wire rack inside the cookie sheet. Using a small spoon, fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture. They should be heaping but not overflowing. Place each popper on wire rack.
Wrap one slice of bacon around each jalapeno popper half starting at one end and spiraling it to the other end and place back on wire rack.
It's time to bake
Place in oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until desired doneness and the bacon is crispy and the cheese is bubbly. You may need to adjust time depending on the size of jalapenos you are using.
Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving
Enjoy!
